The Good Shepherd Alliance is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization that has been providing emergency housing and support for the homeless in Northern Virginia for twenty five years in 2008.

Our Six-Step to Self Sufficiency program, which incorporates intensive case management services with our emergency shelters and transitional home, assists our homeless neighbors in Northern Virginia to become self-sufficient.

The Good Shepherd Alliance looks to serve as a national model in alleviating homelessness and poverty in the Northern Virginia area by organizing community outlets and utilizing community assets through innovative programs and services.

The Good Shepherd Alliance
Mission Statement

The Good Shepherd Alliance, Inc. exists to provide women, children, and families in crisis with emergency shelter, food, clothing, children’s programs, and counseling and transitional housing for pregnant women so as to empower them to become self-sufficient in the shortest-possible time.

Statement of Faith

The Good Shepherd Alliance:

·         Is founded upon the faith that there is but one Creator and sustaining God who manifests Himself in three personal revelations as our loving Father, as Jesus Christ the Son, and as the Holy Spirit.

·         We believe that our loving God calls us to love Him and others unconditionally.

·         We believe in the proclamation of God’s love through acts of mercy and justice to the poor.

·         We believe the Bible is God’s inspired Word of loving the world through acts of salvation, mercy and justice.

·         We believe that just as God used ordinary people in the Bible to accomplish His mission of love   so God uses ordinary people today to accomplish His mission of love by proclaiming the Good News of salvation through acts of mercy and justice for those whom society finds hard to love.

·         We believe that it takes a unified effort on the part of all God’s people for His love to be given to and seen in a broken and needy world.

GSA is a member of the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability (www.ecfa.org) and participates in the United Way (#8920), CFC (#21537) and Guidestar.
